06 Golf V 1.4 petrol - EVAP Control / Purge Valve - Open Circuit - P0444. Hi All. Hoping someone will be able to help with a bit of a head-scratcher !! I'm getting a code P0444 - EVAP Control System - Open Circuit. I've done all the checks on the Purge Valve itself, and all seems to be working ok.
Does anyone know if the vw golf mk4 1.4 16v 55kW and vw golf mk5 1.4 16v 55kW have the same Camshaft housing and cams? The housing looks exactly the same and cams also but just wanted to confirm if anyone knows if it will work. I have an mk5 1.4 16v and found the same housing and cams but there from a mk4 1.4 16v. The stuttering/judder returned badly, it seemed like it was flicking from running on 4, then down to 3, then even down to 2 then back to 3 cylinders with brief flashes of it running on all 4. After at bit it started to smell like it was getting really hot (although the gauge still said 90) and seemed like it was on the cusp of dying completely

Re: 1.8 head on 2.0 block (vwboostin) from what i have been told the 1.8 flows better on the intake side and the 2.0 flows better on the exhaust side. I drove my buddie's car that has a 2L block w/1.8 head and it has quite a bit of torque. most people who do that combo all say that it creates a lot of torque. V.

The Lupo is a 1.4 16V 100BHP, but it's AFK. It's had one instance of hunting, cured with a throttle-body alignment, and other than that and a clutch cable has had nothing but servicing since we've owned it. Jestli můžu doporučit tak rozhodně 1.4 16V. Měl jsem tu možnost jezdit v Golfu s oběma těmito motory a 1.4ka jede opravdu o poznání lépe. Motor je velice pružný. U těchto motrů se ovšem vyskytovalo praskání klik a to téměř vždy kolem 220-250 tisím km. Zkuste si někde v bazaru vyzkoušet oba a jistě se rozhodnete pro 1.4
the 1.4 16V 85HP is the most reliable gasoline engine equiping this cars. the con is the mpg is worse than the others and needs cambelt change every 90k kms, you need to decide where you want to spend. forget about the 1.4TSI 1XXHP, and the 1.2TSI has some problems, don't really know how big they are. Egyébként jó autó a Golf IV, nekem is volt. Viszont 1.4-et ne. Nem túl jó az a motor, és nagyon gyenge. 1.6 16v, de ha még jobbat akarsz magadnak, akkor 1.8, bár abból kevés van. A tipikus rohadási pontoknak, és gyenge részeknek meg gondolom már utánanéztél
